Relationships between spirituality, tradition and creation in traditional performing arts

"Institut Supérieur International du Tourisme"- Tangier

This colloquium will gather scientists, artists, cultural producers, journalists, musicology, human sciences and arts management students.

The subject is about the change from the tradition that fits into a cultural context to the show on stage.

The following issues will be approached :

      1.       Preserving and memory
2.       Ritual, officiant and representation
3.       Handing over, spreading, duplication, alteration
4.       Appropriation, creation

Mediterranean Nights (6th-9th June)

7^th June: ANDALUSIA NIGHT
Omar Métioui, Al-Ala Al-Andalusya
(Andalusian musician from Tangier) / Guest: Salim Fergani

8^th June: MOROCCAN NIGHT
Cherifa Kersit (cheika-singer) / Haja Hamdaouia

9^th June: AFRICAN NIGHT
Ray Lema & Tyour Gnaoua (Gnaoua music)

Concerts will take place at the Mandoubia gardens, 8.30pm

Residences (4th -14th June)

Residence of Dupain and Lo Cor de la Plana groups
and workshops with Moroccan musicians
